on Fri, 03/06/2015 - 03:45

Data could be use to transforming and improving population lives. Information visualization is an effective way to communicate findings in the data, support thoughts and ideas, and tool for data exploration, discovering stories and answer specific questions.

United Nations General Assembly in 2010 proclaimed October 20th as the World Statistics Day to recognize the importance of statistics in shaping our societies. The adoption of this international day brings new light to the importance of data and statistics for better lives.

The first World Statistics Day was commemorated on 20 October 2010 in over 130 countries and areas. The year of 2015 marks an important cornerstone for official statistics, with the conclusion of the Millennium Development Goals, the post-2015 development agenda, the data revolution, the preparations for the 2020 World Population and Housing Census Programme and so much more.

Today it was launched the World Statistics Day logo (see it above) and I'm sure you will be interested in learning about it. Take a look at this video:

Mark the World Statistics Day on October 20th, in your callendar and share how you are going to celebrate this date.
